About This Activity

Akira Highlights

The Palm Jumeirah Island in Dubai is one of the emirate's most famous tourist destinations. Aside from a variety of hotels, beaches, houses, stores, and restaurants, the island also has a 5.4-kilometer elevated monorail track. The monorail takes 10 minutes to get from the Atlantis hotel to the Gateways station. The Palm Monorail, which is owned and operated by Nakheel, provides an environmental friendly mode of transportation for visitors and inhabitants interested in exploring Palm Jumeirah Island.

The Palm Monorail, which began service on April 30, 2009, runs along the trunk of the Palm Jumeirah in Dubai, linking the Gateway station at the Palm's entrance to the Atlantis hotel at the far end. It is not a mere form of transportation; it’s an experiential journey to explore astonishing landmarks with every stop. The Palm Monorail is the most iconic way to navigate across the Palm Jumeirah.

The completely automated double-tracked system not only provides a comfortable ride, but it also provides spectacular views of the island's growth. Around a million people use The Palm Monorail each year. The first-of-its-kind system in the Middle East, The Palm Monorail offers an easy mode of transport from the entrance of Palm Jumeirah to the tip of the crescent. The current operational stations are The Palm Gateway, Al Ittihad Park, Nakheel Mall and Atlantis Aquaventure.

The Palm Monorail offers a fantastic view of the Palm Jumeirah. Tourists staying at the Atlantis hotel frequently utilise it to obtain a nice perspective of the island, and it also connects you from the far end of the island to the main portion of Dubai via Al Sufouh Road (and eventually the metro). Because the Monorail is privately operated, it is more expensive than other kinds of Dubai public transportation.

The Palm Monorail does not currently connect with the Dubai Metro (except via the Marina Tram), so if you want to travel along it from the Dubai end, you'll have to either park in the massive car park at the Gateway station or take a taxi to the Gateway station from either Internet City Metro station or your location.
